We study the dynamics of a one-dimensional system - a network of hard spheres connected by springs. The spheres enter through an inlet with initial velocity, experience a drag force, and are pulled through an outlet. Our computer simulations show irregular dynamics, even when the average number of spheres within the chamber is small. This irregular dynamics is possibly a low-dimensional analogue of turbulence in continuous systems.
